When quarantine began, Billie Joe Armstrong kept us entertained with his No Fun Monday (and occasional Wednesday) weekly cover series; however, the Green Day frontman hadn't released a song in over a month. Thankfully, that changed on Wednesday (July 1) when he shared a timely cover of "Gimme Some Truth" written by the great John Lennon.

"Welcome to no fun Monday hump day.. this song was written by John Lennon," he captioned the video on Instagram. "The first time I heard it was from one of my all time faves Generation X! My version lands somewhere in between."

Listen to Armstrong's "Gimme Some Truth" cover below.

Armstrong unveiled his first cover, a timely rendition of Tommy James & The Shondells' 1967 hit "I Think I'm Alone Now," in March. "I figure if we have to spend this time in isolation at least we can be alone together," he said at the time.

That was followed by a cover of Johnny Thunders' 1978 track "You Can't Put Your Arms Around A Memory," a rendition of The Bangles' "Manic Monday," where he was joined by the band's singer/guitarist Susanna Hoffs, and a tribute to Adam Schlesinger with a cover of "That Thing You Do!" He also celebrated his bandmate Mike Dirnt's birthday with a cover of "We're The Kids In America."
