Before Dave Grohl was in Nirvana, he drummed for a band called Scream. He recorded two studio albums with the group, 1988's No More Censorship and 1993's Fumble, which was recorded in 1989 and ended up being their last LP. Nearly 30 years later, the Washington D.C. hardcore band is ready to record a new album. And they want fans to help make it happen.

The band is planning to launch a Kickstarter on September 8 to fund the project. "A new Scream record that celebrates our musical roots and where we started over 40 years ago," reads the description.

As NME points out, rewards include a Les Paul guitar used to record the album, a fishing trip with drummer Kent Stacks, and hanging out with the band in the studio during the recording session.

“There has never been more of reason to scream than right now,” said founding guitarist Franz Stahl.

Earlier this year, someone unearthed footage of Scream not only reuniting with Grohl, but also performing with Rage Against the Machine's Zack de la Rocha during a surprise reunion show at the Dragonfly club in Hollywood. Together they tore through "Human Behavior" off the band's 1983 debut album Still Screaming.
